Everywhere you turn, people are stopping caffeine. While some people have a genuine allergy to the stuff, the majority are doing it because of peer pressure. Everywhere you look you can find articles about how horrible caffeine is. One of the earliest things a freshly pregnant woman is told is to give up caffeine. As soon as a man or women chooses to “get healthy” he or she is usually told “give up caffeine” first thing. The giving up of caffeine is sometimes the initial sign that someone is trying to improve his or her health. The truth of the matter is that caffeine may occasionally be quite beneficial to your health. Yes it could! Here are some of the important great things about caffeine.
Harvard University a short while ago published a study that confirmed adult men who consumed four or more cups of coffee a day were at a much lower risk of developing Parkinson’s disease. They apparently think that it is because caffeine improves the activity of the dopamine molecules in your brain. It may also be mainly because caffeine can reduce adenosine receptors and that helps make the brain less likely to get amyloid-beta. That could be the brain plaque that is linked to Alzheimer’s disease. From what we can tell, there aren’t any studies at the moment done on whether or not caffeine consumption can make you smarter but it is nice to know that it could help you ward off Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases.
There is a great deal of data out there that caffeine elevates the body’s blood pressure. This shows that you will be at higher risk for heart disease and even heart failure. There are reports, nevertheless, that say the alternative holds true. Brooklyn College commissioned a report that proved men who consumed a few cups of coffee each day would be less likely to develop heart issues. The basic concept is that, if you aren’t already suffering from hypertension, caffeine won’t make the problem worse. If one does have cardiovascular illnesses, however, you need to avoid the caffeine.
There are generally many people who think caffeine will help you with your exercise routines. If you want a muscle fiber to contract, the body needs to release calcium. Adenosine may also help control that activity. Caffeine prevents your brain’s adenosine receptors. While that probably seems erroneous, the fact remains that if your brain’s adenosine receptors are blocked electrical impulses get set off in your brain. The electro-mechanical impulses make your whole body generate bursts of calcium. Since your muscles require calcium to work out, the extra calcium can help you make your workouts more effective.
Of course, for caffeine to be effective and be useful it should only be consumed in moderation. Just because caffeine may help you reduce the risk of disease and be somewhat healthier, that doesn’t mean that you should go overboard with it. The truth is that a lot of caffeine actually is bad for you. When consumed in moderation, however, the stuff will help you transform your health. Who doesn’t wish to prevent heart disease? Don’t you want to ward off Parkinson’s disease? Don’t you need your exercises to be as helpful as possible? Caffeine might help with all of that—as long as you don’t over do it.
