Don’t Get the Common Cold
When you are trying to stay healthy, everyone knows precisely how important it is to take in enough Vitamin C. Everybody is always talking about just how much Vitamin C will help an individual. When you get the flu, what’s the first thing people say to you? “Eat something with Vitamin C!” Now, however, there is some speculation as to if Vitamin C can actually help prevent the common cold.
Consider these immune system boosters for the added protection your body requires.
You’ve possibly already been told about Echinacea. The fundamental idea behind Echinacea is the fact that, if you take it once you feel the first few cold symptoms, you will be able to keep that cold from setting in. More and more experiments are proving, however, that Echinacea offers little more than a simple placebo effect for people who are suffering from the common cold or the flu. At best, the supplement will cut the length of the cold by twenty hours. It is just not a remedy.
How can you keep the colds from getting the better of a person? Here are a few ideas to truly give you a hand.
Immune system boosters for the added protection your body requires.
1. Clean both hands. Wash the hands frequently. This is one of the greatest and most surefire ways to actually ward off a common cold. How come this is so successful? Give this some thought. The hands make contact with cold and flu germs a lot more than any appendage or part of the body. Have you ever previously considered all you touch throughout the day? Every time you touch some thing or surface that has been touched by someone who is struggling with the flu or a cold, your chances of getting sick are increased. If you scrub your hands a great deal, you will be far less likely to let any of the bacterias that you have made contact with get into your system and grab hold.
2. Get a large amount of rest. It’s tempting, especially when times are aggravating, to stay up later. Maybe you need to complete a lot more. Maybe you want to hang out with your friends. There’s a show you really want to watch. All of those things reduce the amount of rest that you are able to get. Rest will help your system find the energy to fight off infections that want to hurt you. When you are catching your zzz’s and asleep your system has a chance to do maintenance and make repairs. The more rest you get, the easier it will be for your body to reduce the chances of infection and get rid of it before it really has a chance to latch on.
3. Stay correctly hydrated. Your body demands at the very least eight eight ounce glasses of drinking water every day to be healthy. Keeping correctly hydrated is what will help your system flush toxins out. If you aren’t effectively hydrated, microbes just refuse to leave instead of getting flushed out. Don’t forget: you can go at least seven days without consuming solid food before you die. Your system may only last a couple of days if you don’t stay hydrated. This on it’s own must make you understand just how important proper hydration is.
Here’s the thing: there isn’t a sensational cure for the flu. All you will have is good sense and taking preventative actions like washing your hands, getting enough rest and staying hydrated.
