Get Healthy in 10,000 Steps

Everybody wants to be as healthy as possible but not everybody has the time to try and do the required amount of exercise to get there. This is the reason that health professionals are pushing people to adopt the ten thousand step method. The ten thousand step approach is founded on the idea that walking ten thousand steps every day can help you get healthy-that it helps cut down on the amount of time you have to spend at the gym. Walking is a good, low impact, exercise. How often have you over heard “if he’d simply taken a walk around the block every now and then?”

Obviously, it won’t be easy to take ten thousand steps everyday. That’s a whole lot! The very good news is that you almost certainly already take nearly all of those steps each day already and don’t know it yet. What you need to do is figure out how to include a few more thousand steps to get to the goal. So how could you do that without feeling like you’re spending the entire day walking about?

Increasing your step count can be done easily using these obvious methods. Taking the stairway as an alternative to riding the elevator is a classic example of this. You may possibly also decide to park far away from the entry way of the store or the mall. Keep your car in one spot and walk your bags and boxes out to the car as soon as you finish shopping in each store as an alternative to just carrying more and more things with you as you run your errands and go shopping. Using public transportation is excellent for increasing your step count since you have to walk to the bus stop and back instead of just to and from the car. And, obviously, taking a quick walk every day is a great way to increase your step count.

Some less clear methods to increase your step count are also available. Write the grocery shopping list in a different arrangement. Lots of men and women plan their lists according to the aisles in their stores. Organize your list in groups including dairy, meat, produce, snacks, etc. Then go shopping in accordance with the order of the list. You may possibly wind up chris crossing the store a few times but it’s a fantastic way to improve your step count. Instead of owning a mail box as part of your door or attached to your house, install it on a post near to the curb. This will create at least a couple of dozen steps to your count each day as you walk from your door to the box and back.
