How to Build a Home fitness center with $1.5k

If I possessed $1,500 to invest on a home gym, I have a few ideas of exactly what I would buy. I think fifteen hundred is a good number due to the fact that’s basically what it would cost to attend a good gym for 2 years, and I figure home gym equipment should have fairly good left over value, unlike a health club membership.

The very first thing I would buy is a good set of adjustable dumbbells. When you search for dumbbells for sale, the most important thing is getting a set that you could add weight on to without spending a ton. I think I could locate a good pair of dumbbells for around fifty dollars, plus maybe another fifty dollars of weights. So for $100 I would have a nice set of dumbbells.

The next matter I would spend money on is some Crossfit equipment such as an Olympic bar and bumper plates. For about $700 I could obtain a great barbell along with a heavy set of bumper plates. With this Crossfit gear I could truly lift heavy and develop some significant strength. I would require about $100 worth of plates though to add on to the set in order to have sufficient weight for heavy dead lifts. Some people may recommend some Crossfit shoes to assist with stability on these lifts, however I’d save the money for something else.

Another thing I would look for are some kettlebells for sale. I might not need more than 3 of these, so probably around $200 or so for what I would like. Kettlebells are great because they place strain on the muscles in ways you don’t get with dumbbells or barbells because of the odd shape they have.

Last but not least, I’d get a power rack. For around $500 I could find a good power rack and that would allow me to properly perform squats and presses, plus nearly every power rack has a pull up bar which can be great for focusing on the back and biceps. I possibly could also add a dip bar down the road for a couple more dollars.
